Redken Symposium: Embracing your natural hair texture

By | Hair salon

In the final segment of our Redken Symposium blog series we are focusing on embracing your natural hair texture and managing your mental health.

Redken educators discussed the importance of helping our clients embrace their natural hair texture and went in depth on product recommendations based on each specific hair type. 65% of the United States population alone haa textured hair! Those with curly hair often feel like their hair never looks as good as it does when they leave the salon. This may lead them to feeling like they are unable to embrace their natural hair which is not the case! Something as simple as going over their hair routine with their stylist and discussing the importance of using the proper products can make a huge difference.

To close out our Redken Symposium blog series, we wanted to touch on an important aspect of the workplace that may not be considered too often. Managing mental health in a potentially stressful work environment can be difficult at times. Some tips provided to our stylists included making sure to take time out of the day to pause and reflect as well as taking time to take care of oneself. Mental health plays an important role in how stylists service their clients, influences their quality of work, and their overall approach to the profession. By giving mental health the focus it deserves, our stylists can provide the best possible service while also taking care of their own health.
