Bangs, or “fringe” have been one of the most popular hair trends over the past couple years and continues to show itself on celebrities everywhere. While a fringe can completely change up the look of your style, cutting one by yourself is quite a bit more difficult than you may think. Sometimes a Hairstylist can save your bangs, but if they are cut too short, you will need to hide the damage until they grow out! No need to worry though; there are a few tricks we’ll share with you to cover up the mistake for a couple of weeks.
Bobby pins are your new best friend. Mix up your style by twisting the hairs off to the side and pinning them under a longer layer near one of your temples. Hairspray will help keep the short, fly aways down.
Headbands
These are perfect to hide those short pieces in front and can be a fabulous accessory to any outfit you have on. Glam it up with a skinny headband + bump, or a thicker bang that completely covers all of the shorter layers in your bangs. Opt for a scarf-style headband or even a shiny metallic one for those nights out with the girls. They’ll never know you’re wearing one to cover your fashion faux pas; you’re just being fashionable!
Front Side Braid –
Starting in the front, braid the section of your hair so that the short pieces get intertwined in the braid, so they’re not noticable anymore! Even though some of the shorter pieces may stick out, hair spray them down for smoothness. Don’t spray too close, or else it’ll look like a wet, crunchy braid. Also avoid waxy products because you don’t want your hair to look greasy around your hairline. For an easy step by step video on how to do a front side braid click here.
Quiff –
If you’re an adventurous one, you can look amazing hiding those baby bangs with a quiff! Go with a neat and perfectly curled 50’s look, or spike up the front fringe. Pair this look with a pretty sundress or go bold with bright red lipstick!
